And we don’t know how to go into the Groups Database and edit that Master.” Or “I’ve used the Smart Labor feature, but it’s not set up correctly, or I’m not using correctly,” then this class is designed for you.
What is The Groups Database, Masters and Conditions?
The Groups Database is a key component within The EDGE and contains Master Lists of Conditions. Each Master List can have one or multiple Conditions.
- Groups Database: A central repository in The EDGE for storing Master Lists and Conditions.
- Condition: Typically represent a single assembly, such as a unique partition or soffit or could imitate your standard wall types, ceiling types, soffit types and column types.
- Master List: A comprehensive list of customized Condition groupings organized by application types, e.g., interior walls, interior ceiling and soffits and exterior groupings
- Each Master can include single or multiple Conditions.
- The benefit of a Master List is that it offers all necessary materials and labor rates for interior estimation. This simplifies the process for estimators by allowing them to select all Conditions with just a few clicks, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
- Examples: A Master List might include items for interior, exterior or fire rated wall partitions. Or it could organize material costs and labor rates for different manufacturers within one list.
