Technology

To maximize the learning experience for attendees, all participants must follow these very specific technology instructions. A tech call with the Foundation Software team is required. Please ensure the following:

Required Hardware

  • PC Laptop with Windows operating system
  • Macs, Chromebooks, and other tablets will not work for this training
  • Power adapter
  • External Mouse

Required Software

  • Microsoft Office 2021 (or newer) or Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Excel 2021 (or newer)
  • Office 2019 and 2020 do not have a number of the functions we will be using.
  • Microsoft released XLOOKUP in 2019 as part of Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365). It was later added to the standalone Office 2021 version. XLOOKUP is an enhanced version of Excel's LOOKUP functions and is intended to replace VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and INDEX/MATCH.
  • NOTE: A local copy of Microsoft Excel downloaded to your computer is needed for this class

Required Access to YOUR Company Database

  • If you are a Hosted client, log-a-call with our IT team to make sure you have access to everything you need.
  • If you are an On-Premise client, a sample database will be provided for the class. You will need to log-a-call with our IT team to get access to the database prior to the class.
  • If you are NOT a local administrator on your device, your company IT team may be required to grant you access for completing ODBC connections prior to the class.

What do I need to know about the venue?

This October we’ll be at Tempe Mission Palms Resort in Tempe, Arizona! This hotel is a retreat in the center of downtown and offers high-end accommodations, tantalizing dining options, numerous shopping options, and the most relaxing facilities and amenities around. If that’s not enough, the resort is located just minutes away from nearby championship golf courses, Hayden Butte, and the Arizona State University campus.

I'm flying in. How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is 15 minutes from Tempe Mission Palms Resort. The hotel provides daily shuttle service to the airport between 5:30am - 10:00pm, leaving every 30 minutes. Reservations are not required.

I’m driving to the event. What’s parking like at the hotel?

Complimentary valet service and self-parking is available in any of the spaces surrounding the hotel, by obtaining a parking pass at check-in.

Once on-site, how can I enjoy local food and entertainment?

Many food and entertainment options are within walking distance of the hotel.

What does the agenda look like?

The class will run from 8am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday – featuring three full days of training and content with Senior Consultant Scott Kern. Plus, be sure to join us for the Welcome Reception on Monday evening.

How do I check-in for the event?

Check-in will take place Monday, October 21 between 6:30–8am just outside of the Palm Ballroom. Breakfast will also be available during this time. Class will start promptly at 8am Monday morning.

Will there be networking opportunities?

Yes! Enjoy the opportunity to connect with our expert Foundation Software staff and other FOUNDATION clients throughout the event – learning together, sharing best practices, swapping tips and tricks, and more.

Will there be any free time?

Tuesday and Wednesday nights are unscheduled for attendees to explore the local area. Start your adventure by going to the "Hotel & Travel Page", locate the "Local Amenities" section, and select "Click to Learn More".

You mentioned food being served during the event… what will that look like?

Breakfast and lunch will be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Please also join us on Monday evening for our Welcome Networking Reception. Enjoy a strolling dinner, open bar, and great networking opportunities.

What to Wear

The hotel has many flexible indoor-outdoor spaces. Our Monday evening reception is scheduled to take place in the courtyard, weather permitting.

October temperatures in Arizona range between lows in the 60s to highs in the 90s. Dressing in layers is recommended – especially when transitioning between air-conditioned indoor spaces and warmer outdoor spaces.

Attendees are also encouraged to dress casually and comfortably.

CPE Credits

By attending this event, CPA professionals can earn Continuing Professional Education Credits. If you are a CPA who plans to earn CPE credits, please be sure to follow the sign-in instructions shared at the beginning of the training.
  • NASBA requires Foundation Software to track and maintain proper attendance records. Sign-in instructions must be followed to earn CPE credits.
  • All these sessions qualify for the “Computer Software & Applications — Non-technical” field of study.
  • Please allow 3 weeks after the event ends for us to provide you with your digital CPE certificate.
Foundation Software is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsor through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org.
